A new entrant last year, the garden created by Jurat and Mrs Robert Christensen is a magical space set high above Grouville Bay with glorious views of Mont Orgueil Castle. The immaculate sweeping lawns lead off into various rooms full of colour and joy. Children will particularly love this garden. The kitchen garden with its ancient wall and traditional sunken greenhouse is worth a visit alone.
Car Park entrance is in La Rue du Parcq, a continuation of La Rue Malo.
Disabled Parking is on La Route Des Cotils.
All access will be from Grouville Church either into La Rue Malo or into La Route Des Cotils. The road will be closed from the Fauvic end.
La Route Des Cotils will be closed from 1.30pm to 5.30pm with access from the Grouville Church end only for residents and Disabled Parking for the Open Garden.
There will be a Disabled Drop Off point at Woodlands Lodge on La Route Des Cotils. Drivers will park further along the road.
The garden has a paved path leading into it and many of the areas are accessed from the lawns. There are steps into the Vegetable Garden and the Swimming Pool area and 2 steps to the toilet.
Teas will be served on the terrace which is accessed by 4 shallow steps from the Central Lawn. Wheelchair access is possible for the main garden and also for one tea table at garden level. The tea team will be happy to serve people using this table if they cannot manage the steps to the Terrace.
JAYF Open Gardens are a fantastic family outing and a joy for garden lovers everywhere. Thank you to everyone who visited or supported our Open Gardens in 2022, we had a very successful season and it wouldn’t have been possible without all our wonderful volunteers and visitors. Guests tried their luck at tombolas and treated themselves to delicious cream tea, served with genuine Jersey clotted cream, milk and butter kindly donated by Fungi Delecti and Jersey Dairy. Thanks also to Neil and Alli Singleton of Birding Tours who ensured guests got the most out of their visit with their wonderful guided Walk and Talks. JAYF are enormously grateful to Aztec Group for its continued support of the Open Garden scheme.
